About the app
What is MedKeep?
A mobile app that keeps test results and prescriptions in one place, reminds you of every dose and helps you come prepared to the doctor. MedKeep organises the data – it does not interpret it and does not replace a doctor.
Is it free? Will it cost money?
The beta is free and needs no card. Exporting and deleting your own data will stay free on every plan. We are not promising the price of paid plans in advance – we will decide from the survey and the first data.
Which phones does it work on?
The app is being built for iPhone and Android. We will name the minimum system versions closer to release.
When is the launch?
We are not naming an exact date: the app is already in development and the release depends on how the beta goes. Sign up and you will hear first as soon as we open access.
In which country does MedKeep work?
The first launch is in several European countries, chosen from the beta sign-ups. We ask for your country in the form to see where MedKeep is awaited most.
Data security
Is it safe to keep medical data here?
Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, the team has no standing access to your files, and technical access is limited and written to a log. We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.
Where is the data stored?
In the Amazon Web Services cloud, in the Frankfurt region, Germany. Files sit in closed storage and are encrypted; there are no public links to them. A copy is also kept in the app's protected storage on your phone so the files open without a network.
Who sees my data?
Only you. MedKeep staff have no standing access to the contents of your files. If you turn Nomi on, the text and the documents for recognition go to an external model provider – only with your separate consent.
Do you sell data?
No, never. We do not sell data, we show no advertising and we offer nothing for partners' money.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. A document is deleted straight away. You delete the account in the settings: access closes immediately, you have 30 days to change your mind, and then the data is erased for good. You can download everything as a single archive at any moment.
What happens to the data if I withdraw consent?
Withdraw consent to store files and uploading stops at once, while the files stay available for another 30 days so you can save them or change your mind. Withdraw consent for Nomi and the assistant switches off, while the confirmed data stays.
Nomi
Does MedKeep diagnose or prescribe treatment?
No, never. Nomi only finds and extracts your data, and everything extracted is confirmed by you. To questions about health, doses and drug interactions Nomi answers that this is a question for a doctor, and offers a useful next step.
What data does Nomi receive?
Only with your separate consent: the text you write to Nomi and the documents for recognition go to an external model provider. We ask it not to keep the requests, and you see the provider's name and the retention period before consenting.
Can I use the app without Nomi?
Yes. Courses, reminders, the document archive and doctors work without the assistant: you add a course by hand and upload documents yourself. Without consent for Nomi only the chat and recognition are switched off.
Does Nomi remember our conversations?
No. Nomi keeps a conversation no longer than the session. What stays is only the data you confirmed and the prompts after the introduction – for example a treatment you mentioned but have not added yet.
Family and the future
Can I add my parents?
Not yet. The family account with profiles for parents and children is planned for V2, and the order of features is decided by votes. More on the “How we're evolving” page.
Will MedKeep be available in my country?
We will choose the launch countries from the beta sign-ups – that is why the form asks for your country. The app will appear in the stores of the countries where we launch.
Which languages is the app in?
Five: English, Russian, Italian, Romanian and Spanish. Each one covers the whole interface, the emails and the prompts.
Will I be able to manage a child's treatment?
It is coming in V2: the family account will have profiles for children and parents with separate rights. For now the app is built for one person aged 18 and over.
Sign-up and the beta
Do I have to complete the survey?
No. Your place in the beta is saved as soon as the form is sent, and every step of the survey is optional – any of them can be skipped.
What do you do with my answers?
They help us decide which features to build first and which countries to launch in. The answers are kept together with the beta sign-up – until the app launches and for six months after, but no longer than two years.
When will the invitation arrive?
As soon as we open the beta we will write to the email from the form. Emails only arrive once you have confirmed the address.
Can I change my answers in the survey?
Yes, as long as the survey is not finished: answers are saved after each step and you can continue from the link in the email.
